Summer Fun With Your Kids

Here is a list of fun things to do with your kids that is free or cheap. Remember to look in local papers for events happening in parks and libraries in your town.

Physical Activities

Kids Bowl Free - Sign up for free weekly tickets for your kids to bowl at your local bowling alley. Most places don't include shoe rental. For a small fee you can include adults.

Kids Skate Free - Sign up for free weekly tickets for your kids to roller skate free at your local skating rink. Some rinks don't include skate rental. Many rinks allow you to bring your own skates or roller blades.

Reading

Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Club -

  1. Read any 8 books and record them on their Reading Journal PDF
  2. Turn in the Journal to your local B&N
  3. Select a FREE BOOK from the list on the Reading Journal page.

Half Price Books Feed Your Brain Summer Reading Program -

  1. Read 15 minutes every day during June and July
  2. Add up your minutes and have Parent initial each week.
  3. Once you've read 300 minutes, turn in your completed log to earn HPB Bookworm Bucks for each month. 
  4. One top reader per age group per month will get a $20 HPB gift card.
